Another bright and sunny day on collard with temperatures around 25 degrees in the afternoon. Still no Large Blue sightings and nothing particularly new to report unfortunately. Small Heaths and Common Blues were out in good numbers as usual along with a few Speckled Woods, Large Whites, Dinghy Skippers and Grizzled Skippers.
I’ve noticed an increase in insect activity generally on the site over the weekend with a few more Bees flying than there has been all week so perhaps the delayed spring is catching up.
The forecast looks a bit mixed for next week so if you are planning a visit to spot the first Large Blue it might be best to prepare for something a little colder and perhaps a shower or two.
