Despite the weather, the large blues are appearing at Collard

This week has seen the first emergence of the Large Blue at Collard Hill (31/05/12).

Todays wind and rain did not provide the best flight conditions but a few were spotted in the sheltered areas. The thyme is starting to flower nicely across the site so once the weather brightens yet more should emerge.

In other news, whilst trying to carry out her ant surveys, poor Sarah Meredith was accosted by an over zealous pony!
